20190223 – Saturday – Home again

Home!

I am sitting once again in the Inc cafe, back here in South Australia after my holiday in Tasmania.

I have ordered my breakfast which will be my last  “luxury breakfast” before I seriously get back into “economy mode” back here in Adelaide.

I have already paid back half my debt to Darren, and should be clear in the next month, so all is well.

Without Darren’s help I would not have been able to go to Tassie in the first place, and I am sooo glad I went.

I had such a good time.

Selena was wonderful!

She took all the stress out of the trip for me.

On our last day she dropped me off at a cafe and then went back to work to get someone to drop her off back with me ready to catch a taxi to the airport.

She organised with a friend to come to that same coffee shop and spend time with me until she got back, so I “wouldn’t be bored.”

Then she rang the nice taxi driver who had brought us into Launceston, and he took us back to the airport.

She got me through all the checking-in process, then pushed my wheelchair to go onto the plane.

She helped me into my seat, and so I had no stress on my trip home.

Then Kate D came to the airport to pick us up and  she deposited me at my home without my blood pressure rising one bit.

And now my head is full of pictures of Tassie, and of all the friends, old and new, that I have made.

We drove for miles and miles on most of the main arteries of the places within two hours each way of Launceston.

So I feel I have a pretty good picture of the lay of the land in Tassie.

I have a lot to think about and absorb in the next few days, a lot of processing to do.

But then comes the hard bit.

I am due to lose my license on the 27th, but Selena says that maybe I can get a “good behaviour” bond for 6 months, and still be able to drive.

So Selena is going to come down to Adelaide on Monday and go with me to the Service Centre, to see if that is a possibility.

That would be wonderful if it could happen.

We shall see.

It is so good to have friends.
