20161230 –  Friday –  My new-look web-site.

A sea lion at Henley Beach

Yesterday when I logged on to my web site, I found that on my “Pages” link there was no evidence of my data so I couldn’t access any of my work on my dashboard. So I headed for my “Hostgator” site – the company that hosts my web site and got onto their “live chat.” I got on at 11.15 am on Thursday and spent the next hour and a half talking to “David.” He located the error, he said, but did not know how to fix it.” Well, that was a lot help. He told me that I should not go to the “wordpress” site and go on “live chat” with them. By this time I was exhausted and simply couldn’t find “live chat” to talk to.

So I rang my friend Peter Halpin. He got straight onto my web site and had located the problem in a flash.  The problem was with one of my “plug-ins” and  so he deactivated everything and then added the important ones back in. Soon, all my data was back and I was one “happy chappy!”

Since he was in my website already, he had a look around and said: Why don’t we change your “Catch Adaptive” to a different theme. I said, “go ahead,” and he did. In ten minutes or so, I had a whole new them which I really like and my whole web-site looks easier to handle and more logical. But I now have so much work I have to do. Peter agreed that we should have a coffee catchup and I should bring my computer to a cafe with a power point and we can make some more changes and tidy things up and improve “the look.”

This has made me so happy. I am so grateful for all of my friends. I am also thankful for facebook. It is wonderful to have an easily accesssible network of friends who are all pretty well instantly available to help you if they can when you have a problem. Wonderful! Thank you Peter Halpin, the motto below describes how I feel pretty well.
