20190605 – Wednesday – Marion and shopping with Alison
Well, Alison has taken me shopping – quite an experience!!
My frying pan and my saucepan had both “given up the ghost” and had lost their handles and over time their bases had become rather worn.
I would have gone to a second hand shop to replace them but Ali insisted I get good quality replacements from her favourite home appliances store at Marion where they were having a half price sale.
Jeff agreed to drive me to Marion to meet Ali at Cibo’s.
We arrived there early and so had a coffee and Jeff read the paper.
Ali arrived at 9.45 as agreed and she and I had a coffee and a chat before “hitting the shops.”
Ali had her own agenda as usual and I found myself in the linen shop with with half price bed sheet sets, being asked which colour I preferred.
I had come to purchase a new frying pan and saucepan with see-through lids as my only options, but Ali insisted on buying me the sheets!!
I gave her a lecture on extravagance which she completely ignored, so the sheets came with us on the next stage of our journey.
Ali said she was going to put our purchases in the car and I was to wait on a seat for her return.
Then someone sat down beside me and it was Chris T who had met Ali as she was returning from her car.
Ali had told her where I was sitting and so Chris had come to chat with me for a while.
We discussed the coming Adelaide conference and the volunteering that Chris is doing in preparation for the conference.
Chris also volunteers for Meals on Wheels and other places in Blackwood.
Then Ali returned and we went to Cibo’s once more to wait for Jeff to return.
When Jeff turned up we all had a coffee together and then were joined by Roz M who just happened to be passing by.
Then Elaine F arrived, because Ali had arranged to meet her there and have lunch with her.
So I took photos of all these lovely people, and then Jeff dropped me off to the Aquatic centre while he drove somewhere else in his travels.
He is going to pick me up again after 3 pm.
And so this is how my day is shaping up, never a dull moment it seems!!
