20180817 – Monday – Elaine

Sitting at the Kiosk on such a lovely day, I decided I WOULD ring Elaine B and see if she felt like a coffee.

So I rang, and she did, and very soon I saw this YOUNG girl come out of Elaine’s house with long blonde hair, and thought I was seeing things.

But it was her, and she looked so young.

As she got closer, I could see that she was NOT so young, but still, very youthful with her long hair, and slim figure.

It was so good to see her – I haven’t seen her for quite some years now, how many years I was not quite sure.

It turned out that I hadn’t seen her since just BEFORE my 1st trip in my trailer to the first oldies Bible School I had been to I think in 2015.

It took an hour or so for us to catch up on each other’s histories and then we asked the lady in the next table to take some photos of us.

Then we walked across the road to her house because she wanted to show me how much she had progressed with the renovations she had been working on over the last 3 years.

And what a wonderful job she had done. Everything was organised and completed from the amount I remembered that still had to be done from 3 years ago.

The afternoon had slipped away and we were both feeling rather tired and drained after so much talking.

Elaine walked me back to my car and we loaded my walker into the boot.

Then it was Goodbye, and home along the shoreline to West Beach.

The sea was flat calm and almost a white colour.

How different each day can be at the beach! And how glorious is the sea, and how I love its changing colours.

Elaine’s neat tidy kitchen almost persuaded me to do my breakfast dishes, but not quite, not yet.
