20181229 – Saturday – Carpenter Rock to Mt Gambier
Saturday afternoon I sat in in trailer for an hour with the window all zipped up.
Later when I decided to venture out of my cocoon, I found that the reserve had filled up even more.
To my annoyance there was a small tent set up with a man sitting in the tailgate of his car reading a book, and I could see that I would not be able to get in or out of my trailer without being in his full view.
Sigh.
I picked up my box and two tarpaulins and put them in my trailer and closed everything up.
In two minutes, I was out of there, leaving my inconsiderate neighbour to his own devices.
I drove right across to the other side of the reserve and in no time was set up in a large space, backing onto the scrubland that surrounded the reserve.
Privacy!
It turned out to be a great spot.
During the night it rained!
I lay there listening to the rain spattering on my “rooftop,” and it was delicious.
I had taken the duna out of my trailer and put it into the back of my car and replaced it with my light green sleeping bag duna.
The reason being that my trailer insulation was too effective and I simply did not need my heavy-weight duna.
This meant that I could lie on the sheets in the trailer instead of on top of my “good” duna.
I find it interesting that I am always finding new ways of doing things, to make myself more comfortable.
I have another half an hour to “kill” before I get into my car and drive to the little general store by the bay to pick up the water I ordered yesterday.
Last night reading the various fb entries from my friends around Australia, it was interesting to note where they all are.
Sim S is on a houseboat on the river at Echuca and he sent me a map of his location.
It is wonderful to be part of a close community, able to remember each other’s birthdays, and share places and events you would never have been able to do without our “technology.”
There is so much “bad” in the world today, but if everything is used in a good way, it can be a wonderful support system.
It gives me company on my way.
I am sure that without it I would feel very lonely, very isolated, but with it, I am in a company of pilgrims all looking out for each other and caring for each other on our various journeys.
And facebook’s “Private Messaging” facility is wonderful.
It means I can chat away with all the ENFP’s who NEED to communicate, people like Kate D and Meg C and Colleen R. Some of the ENFP’s who come to mind. Peter H is often a companion on my way and Rob T and others on Whatsapp.
I may be one year off 80, but way back in 1980 when computers first came into my life, I saw what a potential this technology had and what a blessing it could be to me personally.
