20190102 – Wednesday – Last day at Pakenham.

This has been such a pleasant stop over here at Pakenham.

At $10 a night, it has been worth every penny.

Parked under a big green leafy tree, it has been so cool and pleasant.

I went for breakfast to a cafe I came across by chance when I was looking for another cafe.

It is called the Aroma cafe and is round by a lovely couple of I would guess Sri Lankan origins.

I had 2 poached eggs, spinach, avocado, tomato and mushrooms and a LARGE cup of coffee.

Then I wrote up my diary and finally went back to my lovely trailer for a restful day and a good sleep because I had not slept one wink the night before.

And I did sleep.  It was wonderful!

I interspersed my restful day with text messages to and from Pauline O, Peter H and later on in the night from Simon.

Simon takes the most beautiful photos. He is currently parked at Echuca in a houseboat there and it looks wonderful.

He is travelling with “the cousins.”

I love his posts.

They are always enigmatic and cryptic and I often have to think for quite a while for a way to answer them.

Pauline sends me funny videos of her g-children and the appalling weather they are having up there in Cobar at the time.

I had a simply wonderful sleep on Wednesday night, and now I am sitting in the Aroma cafe once more, having breakfast and drinking coffee, and I was thinking about my little trailer again.

I love getting up in the morning.

I have developed a routine thank keeps my trailer tidy and me happy.

I sit sideways in my trailer and I start from the back of the trailer and I work my way forward, tidying everything up and putting things in their place for travelling.

I empty my shelf and place all my food in a “green bag” and then hang it all from the ceiling so there will be lots of air flow to keep everything as cool as if it had been in a refrigerator.

When all is tidy, I start my dressing.

I will have chosen what I am going to wear by this time, just a top and trousers while I am travelling.

I put them on and then I am left at last with just my bag with my ipad and phone safely inside, one bag full of rubbish to get rid of.

Then I sit on my tail gate and put my shoes on, then put the tarps in the back of the trailer and my box on top of that, zip the back of the trailer up.

Take my toilet bag out of car and put it in my walking frame, and then a short few steps to the toilets.

Key in the number to get into the toilets, take care of my “ablutions” and then I am ready to be on my way.

There is that nice feeling when you have done ALL your housework, and you are left with your DAY ahead of you.

This time I left my trailer back at my campsite to go to the Aroma cafe, and I wished I hadn’t when I got there, because it is so early in the morning I could have parked my trailer anywhere. Will remember for next time.

The owners of Aroma greet me like an old friend this time.

They give me my meal, which I consume with relish!!

I don’t have to did any shopping today, because I have my green bag back in my trailer with all the fruit, dates and nuts I need for the day and evening.

Also I have some protein (meat) still left over from last night.

I will probably look for some chicken to add to my supply for the day.

Then It is off to check out Mornington’s race course, to see if there is any camping there.

I haven’t been able to find out yet.

But I have the whole day to establish where I will park for the day and night.

Today I am going to try to do some transcribing if I can.

So that was my yesterday and part of today.
