20190331 – Sunday – Count down begun.
I haven’t been doing much these last few days.
I have been pre-occupied with getting ready in both mind and body for my stint in hospital.
I have had a few phone calls from Marg R from Hunter Valley region.
Marg has a beautiful voice and sings in all the productions in that region of he ecclesial world.
She has been telling me about the production being put on by Heritage College at Lake Macquarie.
They have produced a marvellous version of Mary Poppins and 13 of Marg’s grandchildren were in the production.
Two of Marg’s married sons were under the stage lending their voices to the choruses, and my, can they sing.
I didn’t get to see it, but I can imagine the wonderful sound.
The world and school life have changed, but I recall the days I spent singing in the choir at Unley High School under the tutelage of “Musical Mick McKie” our amazing singing and orchestra teacher of those days.
So I could feel and share Marg’s excitement and pride in her wonderful offspring as they prepared for and finally sang in their production of Mary Poppins.
I remember my brother Graham wen to a different High School to mine, but he loved singing.
He begged me to ask permission from Duncan McKie to be a part of the chorus in one year’s production, when he didn’t even belong to our school.
Mr McKie said “Yes,” and so my brother Graham spent one joyous year as a member of the Unley High School choir.
So many memories I have in my brain gathered from the almost 80 years of my life.
And so many people, people my thoughts and my dreams.
My life merges into one in my mind. My past as vivid as my present and my future.
As Christadelphians we are so blessed, because the future is included in our knowledge.
We know the future as well as the past and the present.
How blessed are we.
No fear of death, just the joy of a beautiful future on this earth in a kingdom where “eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the thins which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
And Marg soon you will sing with angel-voice in a greater production by far than Mary Poppins.
