20190601 – Saturday – Tim Colliver has sorted my computer, and Aquatic Centre.

Today, Tim and Liz Colliver came as planned and Tim sorted out all my computer cords, making sense of, and making everything work once again.

Then he went through the box of cords that used to sit under my desk and got rid of all the unwanted paraphernalia that has dogged me over my computer years.Ā

Coincidentally, Darren Gore rang me right in the middle of the process, and was able to say hello to Tim while he was here.

In the meantime Eli and Oz had a good time running around my unit in my computer chair.

The task finished, Tim and Liz said goodbye and continued on to do their shopping and would have gone to the Apex park for the kids to play on the play equipment there.

I forgot to tell them, but they would have pretty quickly found out, that there is building work going on there.

A new community centre, play ground, wetlands and tennis courts are being being erected, but are not finished yet, and will not be completed until September this year.

I too am hanging out for the completion of this council incentive, because if I still do not have my driving license by then, I will be able to walk to the Apex park using my walker (if I am still using a walker by then) and spend time there, working on my iPad and hopefully drinking coffee.

Then it is only a hop step and a jump to the Foodland Shopping Centre, and so I could still have a ā€œlifeā€ without a car, if I canā€™t drive by then.

It also gives me 3 months to get my addled brain back in working order and maybe have a life again.

This business of getting older is not much fun, but then again, if Christ should happen to come by 2020, none of the ageing process will matter any more, because by then I hope to ā€œrise up on eagleā€™s wingsā€ and join our Lord ā€œin the air (political heavenlies) and there will we ā€œever beā€ with our Lord.

In the afternoon I went to the Aquatic Centre and exercised my leg for an hour, and then took a taxi home using my taxi vouchers for want of other transport being available.

I had a great conversation wth a man from India telling me about his life in India and then his travels all 9ver the world.

When the English had handed over India to the Indians, his grandfather had become a very large land owner, and his family had also grown very large, and his home when he was growing up had been a 16 bedroom mansion.

He had felt that everything had already been achieved for him and there dwas nothing left for him to do, so he decided to leave his home and family and travel the world.

This he had done, finally ending up in Australia where he met and married his wife, also from India, and now they were hoping to settle down at last and have a family.

There is always someone to talk to tat the Aquatic centre;\

Pauline and Barry Oliver have arrived in Adelaide from Cobar, in a truck Carrying another vehicle piggy back style, as you do;

I was able to tell Pauline and Susie that in the cleanup of my desk I had found an old Walkman with a tape inside.

It was the tape of a night at Susieā€™s place many years ago, when the Oliver bo yes had all lined up in Susieā€™s lounge room and sung a number of songs together, wearing dark glasses, because they were all too shy to sing without them. What a find!!
