20181024 – Wednesday – Ali coming.

This morning I woke up and remembered that Ali was coming and hopefully with Trev to clean out my front verandah. There will be some lifting involved, so I do hope Trev is coming as well.

Well, my diet is working rather well. I have lost altogether 3 k since I weighed in at 100.5 kg on 13th October 2018. So now I weigh 97.5 and that is after 12 days!!

Darren keeps telling me not to worry about my weight but to concentrate on my sugar levels.

Yesterday I came home at around 3 pm from working on my ipad at Inc Cafe, and I was pretty exhausted so I went to ed and slept from 3.00 to 8.30 at night. Then I was awake for until midnight pretty well after that.

Darren rang me up and we chatted for 20 minutes or so, mainly about my diet.

He said that I must be boring my friends to death with my concentration on my diet and gave me a lecture, telling me to put my stuff up on wordpress and THEN link it to facebook. He is saying the same as Peter H so they must be right, I guess. It is just that it is easier for me.

Well this time I will do as I am told by both of them and use wordpress.

As to whether I am boring all my friends, please said friends, let me know if that is so?

Are you interested in hearing the chitchat between Darren and me about my diet which I always put at the BOTTOM of my main post???? Please let me know.

I know I am talking a lot about my diet, but it is what I am focused on right now. I am sure other things will happen that will get me somewhat off of the subject as we go along.

By putting it at the bottom of my post I figure that those who are interested in diet can read on, the rest can just stop reading when I come to my diet stuff.

So my interaction with Darren yesterday.

Fay: Tuesday 23 Oct at 2.10 am 9.4 sugar

Darren: Fill in the form for yesterday?

Fay: Tuesday 8.28 am 13.6 sugar

I will fill in the form after I have gone to the cafe.

Took 10 units of insulin

Breakfast 2 poached eggs and 1/2 avocado

Green tea

Darren: make sure you bookmark the form

Fay: I have filled in the form.

Darren: Cool. Your stats come up?

Fay: +No, how do I see them?

Darren: lol, use the other stats link. We just went through this.

Fay: I haven’t worked out how to bookmark. I am so confused. I want to look at the graphs and they are not in anything you have sent me and I am not able to bookmark. It is driving me crazy!!

I’m going home to bed.

3.33 pm Tuesday 19.7 sugar.

Did shopping. Here is the docket.

Foodland doesn’t have berries or himalayan salt.

Lunch small slice of watermelon and 1/2 avocado.

Sip of coconut milk.

Small tin of tuna.

Darren: Is that the tuna in oil?

Fay: Tuna in Brine – got to use up what I have.

Darren: There is $40 in your account.

Fay: Thanks Darren, you could have put it in Splitwise.

I have been asleep all afternoon and just woke up at 8.30 pm.

Now doing washing and cleaning up.

Your Mum and Dad are coming tomorrow to clean my verandah and get rid of stuff that is there. So kind of them. But dreading it none-the-less.

It is the first time I have ever let them help me, but I am not able to manage very well these days.

Dinner, 1 boiled egg, 1/2 avocado, few macadamias, tomato, slice of watermelon.

Darren: Your dinner is great. However you need to drop the fruit, especially at night.

That will affect your sugar levels.

Fay: That is the only time I want to eat fruit!!

Darren: lol, what do you want me to say?

Fay: Say “Yes,” is ok.

Darren: lol, you don’t want me to do that.

Fay: Ok, I will eat it in morning.

Darren: Enjoy it while you do. But just in the morning.

Fay: Ok I must say, I am feeling so much better – so much more energy. Well, after sleep anyway!

Darren: Well, guess u will just have to keep taking my advice. Must know what I am talking about.

We still have a lot of work to do with your blood sugar levels though.

I want you to make a doctor’s appointment for next week and take him through your results. I am happy to call in as well if you would like me to. If not, that is ok.

If I do I can at least explain what the aims are.

Fay: 10.13 pm 15

Darren: How much do the levels lower too after the insulin?

Fay: Not exactly sure. I will measure again, maybe in an hour. I’ve had too much sleep, so will be awake.

Darren: Sounds good.

Fay: 11.05 pm 13.6

Darren: Do u eat anything at all between 2.43 and 4.19?

Fay: No. I have eaten nothing and just woken up feeling kind of heavy. Not wanting to get up but stay aslep. Then I remembered your Mum was coming and so got up and went to loo.

So it is really between 2.43 am and 7.50 am.

Darren: Yeah, that’s interesting. I might research that and see if there is a reason why levels decrease then increase.

Fay: Yes it is interesting. Maybe need to find outhow much water I need to drink whenever Iwake.

But the increase is not food related so must be something else.

It could be either the Somogyi effect or the dawn effect.

I think it is your body’s mechanism for waking you in the morning.

Out of interest, what did you eat after 6 pm last night as well as quantities?

Fay: Yes, well I felt as though Iwas being pulled up out of a deep sleep, unwillingly.

Darren: lol. In the form, I might create a field for interesting things of note like this during each day.

Think that’s a good idea? That way you can just make comments about stuff like this, or how you are going to the toilet, changes etc.

Fay: Remember I went to bed at 3.33 in the afternoon after eating lunch, 1 egg boiled, 1/2 avocado, macadamias, tomato and 1 slice watermelon.

Then I slept till 8.36 pm.

Dinner 1 boiled egg, 1/2 avocado, 1 domato and slice watermelon.

Darren: We need to get through a couple of lunches and nights without fruit and see what effect that actually makes first.

Fay: I am only going to eat fruit at breakfast.

Darren: Measure your sugar levels before breakfast. If they are above 13 then no fruit.

We would just be adding sugar to your system when it is already high in sugar.

Hopefully though no fruit at lunch or night will resolve that

May take a few days though.

Fay: Ok.

Weight 97.5 at 8.34 am. Lost 3 kg since started at 100.5 kg.
