20181104 – Sunday – Kate and Selena

Yesterday was a wonderful day!

I woke up bright and early and decided I would go for a drive.

I headed toward Mt Barker hoping that I could catch up with Selena P and Kate D along the way, but if  not, decided I would go to a cafe in the Main Street and spend some time working on my iPad.

I messaged Selena and she told me that she had a wedding being held at Bremer farm, but that she would not be there while it was in progress, but instead would be working at Kate’s place.

She said that she was going to meet Kate at Salzon cafe and that I should head there first.

I did so, but just as I was walking up the Main Street to Salzon, I received another message from Selena telling me that Kate had left Salzon and was heading back home and that I should go there too.

So I walked back to my car and lifted my walker back into the boot of my car, always an effort and drove to Kate’s.

Selena came out and helped me down the various stairs and ramps to get to Kate’s place and Kate came out and greeted me and I went inside her cottage.

What a transformation.

Every major thing has been done, all by Selena, and she was here with her drill and hammers and such to put handles on all the doors and drawers, and shoe holders and whatever. 

How amazing is she. 

I couldn’t believe how beautiful and spacious it looked. 

Every inch of space was careful crafted and used and worked out. 

The wardrobes in the bedroom area were a miracle and fitted soo much of all Kate’s stuff.

The bathroom even has a bath with a simply huge shower head that directs water straight down and so even without a shower curtain, which still has to go up, Kate can shower without spraying water everywhere.

The toilet is in a position where even with no door it is very private and secure.

The kitchen is beautiful, modern stove, refrigerator, and double sink, in fact everything Kate will ever need.

So Kate sat on a settee under the window which her granny had given her where the lid of the couch lifts up to provide storage space.

Because of Selena’s vision and foresight there was a place for everything, and no need for ever being cluttered, and in such a small place.

Even an air conditioner above the side window, and the verandah all the way around provides protection from the weather.

There is a little desk right beside the door where I will be able to sit and work when I visit.

Selena says she is going to move the pathway to the side of the house so that I and others can have a better entrance to Kate’s cottage.

While Selena worked away on the finishing touches, I sat and talked with Kate about the Combined weekend studies and the notes that I had sent her and also, the material about what Adam’s “state” was before the fall, and Jim Dillingham’s material about animals in Study number 24 in his Visions of the kingdom.

I had brought my own dinner (Darren would be proud of me) and so I was able to keep to my diet without Kate being put to any trouble about providing food for me.

Kate prepared some food for Selena (lunch at about 3.00 pm) and so we three chatted away until around 4.30. 

I wen home at this stage, Selena helping me traverse the stairs and ramps in reverse.

And I drove home.

I felt deliriously happy as I always do when I leave Kate and Selena. 

They are among the most proactive people I know, and time spent with them is always inspiring to me.

Darren was pleased with me too, when I got home. 

“U would not have even  contemplated doing that 2 weeks ago!!” he said.

And so, now for my dietary story for Saturday.

 

Fay: Wake up on Saturday 3rd Nov, 2018

Daren: That’s nice and low. Good sleep?

Fay: Omelette, mushroom, avocado, tomato, few grapes and slice of watermelon.

Now full. 

I am sure my stomach is shrinking because it doesn’t take much to fill me up these days.

Kate is in her cottage now. 

Selena has finished the renovations, and Selena has a wedding at Bremer farm today.

Darren: As in Selena is getting married?

Fay: No, she hosts weddings at Bremer farm.

Darren: Ah, right!

Fay: Have been at Mt Barker all day.

5.57pm at 14.7 sugar level.

10 units Novarapid.

Went to Kate D place. 

Took my own lunch and dinner with me.

Had 1 egg, mushroom, tomato for lunch and the same for afternoon tea.

Kate made me a small salad and a tin of tuna to go with it.

Arrived home here 5.46 pm

1 fried chop.

Darren: Nice work.

Now you are managing food while out and planning ahead.

U would not have even contemplated that 2 weeks ago.

Fay: I was so glad I did so I didn’t have to bother Kate and Selena with getting me food.

Yes, I am proud of myself.

On top of that my food tasted delicious.

I think my taste buds are working better now as well.

Darren: If you can change your thinking on what you eat ten they will work in with you after a couple of weeks.

The awesome thing about that is that eventually you not only stop craving bad food, but it begins to repulse you!

Fay: I have had a simply marvellous day.

Yes, I am sure that is the case!!

Darren; Awesome.

Fay: 1 pieced of chicken fried in olive oil. 

1 fried tomato.

Bed; 8.30 pm

A whole crowd of visitors turned up at Kate’s just after I left.

Fay: Yes, I left just before they arrived.

Selena would have taken the photo.
