20181203 – Monday – Nina, Bethsalem

20181203 – Monday – Nina

Yesterday was a very full day indeed. Flaxley in the morning and then on the way home I rang my friend Nina and asked if she was free. She was!

So off to Nina’s place.

Nina is so interesting.

I met her first way back in the ‘90s when I worked for her at Holiday Concepts, selling Timeshare.

(I have had so many jobs during my lifetime, from real estate, to court reporting, and a whole lot of in-between filler-in short-term jobs, Holiday concepts being one of them).

Anyway in becoming Nina’s friend I also became friends with her LARGE family and extended family.

There were Nina and Dina and the rest of her sisters and then a whole community of Greek hangers on.

Her husband was Touso, and if you can imagine them all doing the Zorba, you will have the idea.

She fascinated me.

So I ended up being included in many of their “Events,” from birthdays to Xmas events.

I loved the whole idea of them. It was like being in a village in Greece.

Touso has since died and so has Dina and Aphra, so the numbers are sadly depleted in these latter years.

I have had a stroke and Nina has recently had a stroke and is still in the recovery stages.

But today, she was full of life again, her hair beautifully streaked and she looked absolutely marvellous.

She still has a slight limp per favour of the stroke, but is back on track.

Nina is one of the sharpest women I know.

Very intelligent, very beautiful, and the centre of her family, the focus of them all.

Well, she is watching her diet too, so she made a salad and cooked some eggs and we shared dinner together.

This was around 2 pm in the Sunday afternoon, and I finally left around midnight.

If all our words had been lego pieces, we would have had a mountain of words sitting on the floor in front of us.

I LOVE the diversity of my friends.

Nina and I do not share the same religion, but we share many other common interests in life.

She showed me photos of herself and family and a video her family had made for her, combining those photos into a family history/story.

I LOVE Nina, and through her I have made other friends such as Maxine and Sylvia.

So that was last night and when I got home after leaving Nina’s place I was quite “high” and did not end up going to bed until around 2 am.

I was up again at 6 am, and soon was dressed and ready to go. But where?

Well I decided to go to Bethsalem up at Aberfoyle Park and sit in the cafe there and work away and “see what happened.”

The girls in the cafe made me a cup of coffee and then Linda K came up and talked about her Mum who has recently been admitted to Bethsalem because she has not been well at all.

It is so sad for me to see my friends and associates  getting older and infirm.

Shirley is the mother of Karen S my very good friend and dear and best friend of my daughter in Melbourne.

We all need Jesus to return SOON, before all our lifetimes are over.

Though it doesn’t REALLY matter because if we sleep before he comes, will will AWAKE again.

I have messaged Meg C and asked her (hopefully) to meet me for lunch.

Hope she gets the message.
