20181225.2- Tuesday – Adelaide to Tailem Bend.

It is a bright sunny day, and the first day on my travels with my camper trailer.

I drove to Mt Barker Showgrounds first.

It was around mid-day when I got there, and I wanted to see how well my trailer insulation worked.

I parked under some trees in the car park there and climbed in my trailer with my two ekies, one for my insulin and one for food.

I checked my sugar levels and ate my simple breakfast and then lay down to have a rest.

I began watching “watership down,” a kids movie for a while and found to my delight that it was quite cool in my trailer, even though it was mid-day and quite hot outside.

My duna and 1 cotton blanket and was so much neater and tidier than all the tangle of blankets I needed prior to insulation.

After an hour I packed up and began the next small leg of my journey.

I filled up with petrol first and blessed Darren for my petrol charge card.

My car is so economical, it costs around $50 to fill up.

I went to Tailem Bend, but before I got there I took a turnoff to Westbrook caravan park which is a small caravan park right on the river bank and I kept it in mind as somewhere to visit at some time in the future.

At Tailem Bend I went into the OTR Cafe and ordered two pieces of fish and a flat white.

I am here now writing up my diary on my ipad and am happy to note that the charging overnight in my trailer has pretty well completely charged both my ipad and my phone.

It feels so good to have all my “electronics” working.

I peeled the batter off the fish and just ate the fish, so far no carbs to speak of, though I had some dates and cherries.

I don’t think I will have to worry too much about my diet on this trip.

Already I have moved into “travel mode,” and don’t need a lot of food.

I have lots of work to keep my occupied, and I have days and days the spend ambling along the roads.

I don’t have to be in Melbourne until the 6th.

I have to remember to cancel a podiatry appointment on the 7th, but I think everything else is take care of.

I am up to Study 27, I think of Visions of the Kingdom, so 28 is next on the list.

I am listening to the Bible in the car on the way, and the disk I have on at present is from 1 Kings up to Psalms, and I will play that over and over and will think about it all a lot.

Time now is 3.15 pm.
