Lesson 6 How to Accept the Challenge of Success.

“Compared to what we ought to be, we are only half awake, we are making use of only a small part of our mental and physical resources,” wrote William James, psychologist. We live in an age that has come to accept “average” as a standard of performance. “Safety” and “security” have become ideals, almost completely submerging our desire for growth. We must be willing to take risks, to take advantage of the ninety percent of our potential that James says we never use.
Dr Abraham Maslow, psychologist, wrote, “One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.”
