20160306 – Sunday – Oldies Bible School

I arrived at Gail’s place at about 6pm. I rang Gail and she was not expecting me to arrive on Friday. I sent her a message yesterday but she didn’t get it. Luckily I had a key and was able to get in the house. I parked the car on the lawn beside the house as I did last August.

I went inside and climbed upstairs and had a look at the room that was to be mine while I stayed with Gail. I thought of having to bring my things up those stairs. I shook my head and said to myself, “No, downstairs would be much better.” So I commandeered Gail’s little downstairs lounge room. Later Gail showed me that I could use the coffee table/glory box to put my things in and that worked well, The  lounge room has two leather lounges along two walls of the lounge and that made a comfortable bed.

I put my duna from the car on the lounge and a pillow and I lay down and had a sleep. Gail was at work. When I woke up I decided to have something to eat. So I ate a small tin of baked beans and some dry biscuits and cheese.

Then I went to bed for the night or so I thought. Unfortunatey I had severe indigestion that kept me awake for the entire night.

When Gail came home after her shift I finally had managed to get an hour or so’s sleep but I felt terrible. Gail and I chatted for a while but then she went to bed after her night shift and so did I. I slept until 2.00 pm and was feeling quite a lot better when I woke.

Gail had invited visitors for the evening and so she began ho prepare the food for that. Gail is a good organiser and so when the visitors came there was a beautiful meal prepared for them. The Masons were there and the Thurlows – Gail’s  daughter and son-in-law) and the Masons son and daughter-in-law and Ant a neighbor. The men cooked the barbecue and we sat out on the decking to eat. It was a very pleasant evening.

Sunday morning Gail cooked scrambled eggs for breakfast and Gail went to the meeting and I drove to Gosford to meet up with my daughter Deb who  was over from Perth to spend time with Deb’s daughter and son-in-law and grandson and Amy and Roger’s little foster child.

At 2.00pm I drove to Rathmines for the Oldies Bible school. There were 120 of us registered for the school. We had lunch in the cafeteria and I sat with my old friends Jenny and Joe Spruyt and Elaine Frankham and later with Ali Gore who came in late(as usual).Met up with Bill and Elaine Dodson who have not seen for a few years!

After that at 7.30 was the memorial  meeting in the main auditorium. I sat next to my niece Susanne Ferg and Kevin. Had a coughing fit in the middle of the meeting so I got up and went into a little side roomy I recover.  There was a big commercial air conditioner in an alcove pumping out air into the room. There was also a metal door or open a door to keep the door open. As I passed by I must have touched it and it fell over with a huge bang!! O dear!!

After the meeting I decided not to stay for a cup of coffee and  drove back to Gail’s place and fell into bed I was so tired. Gail arrived home and we shared stories about our respective day’s happenings. Love Gail, she is so good to me.
