20181106 – Sunday – Deb on her way to America.

This is the day my daughter is on her way to America.

She has a very busy schedule and will be away for quite some time.

I went to the Aquatic Centre this morning and exercised my legs as I do for an hour.

I had a conversation with a little man in the pool.

He had a strong Scottish accent and he told me that he had been a chef for the big airlines around the world and had just retired.

We chatted for quite a while.

I meet some interesting people here in the pool.

I worked in the cafe at the centre after my swim, and while I was there I purchased and ate a small packet of mixed fruit and nuts.

Wrong choice.

When I arrive home my sugar level was up to 20! And I could not think what had spiked my levels so badly.

Then I remembered the fruit and nuts and of course it was the “fruit” part of the fruit and nuts.

It took almost the whole of Tuesday, and overnight to get my levels down again.

Darren of course was happy that I had found the reason, and so would not buy that sort of snack again.

I worked on transcribing Leen Ritmeyer’s “Sodom” talk that he gave at Brighton some time back. Trevor Gore had asked me for a transcript.

I still haven’t finished Class 25 of JD’s Visions.

I get distracted and have too many things on the go at once.

My diet.

Fay: 6.16 am at wake up

Darren: They have jumped up a little bit aye?

Keep monitoring.

Hopefully they will sort themselves back out now that you are back on the insulin from yesterday.

Fay: Been swimming. Took my breakfast with me, 2 boiled eggs, tomato, avocado and a few grapes.

Darren: Nice work. Hs that been going ok?  The preparing of food?

Fay: It is great.

It means that I always have the basics for a meal and then I can pick and choose out of the food that is available wherever I go.

Darren, what was the name of our business when we were on North East Road?

I can’t remember? With Ben Blanche?

Big Byte Telco Solutions

Yes, that’s great. It will likely give you way more choice, at a far cheaper price which then also gives you more freedom to do a lot more when you want.

Fay: I have such a bad memory of all those days and the names of the various businesses we were involved in. I am glad you are writing all about those days.

Yes, I am spending far less time than before.

11.32 am at 20.1 sugar level

20 units Lantus,

10 units of Novarapid.

Have just got home from swimming.

Wow! That has spiked. No insulin taken until now. It should drop back quickly now.

Lunch at 12 noon.

1 chop, tomato, mushrooms, Cucumber, avocado.

Darren, I have sent you and email with the corrected version of your blog.

Darren; Yeah, so I think that probably just shows that insulin management is still just as important that we keep on top of.

Essentially, the aim remains the same that we are slowly reducing insulin but want to avoid those spikes.

Thank you for the editing.

Fay; 1.1 am at 18l6 sugar level

10 units of Novarapid.

I ate some nuts.

Darren: Yes, thank you.

No protein or vegetables? And how many nuts?

Fay: I have just realised why my sugar has spiked so badly.

I purchased a small packet of “organic” fruit and nuts at the Aquatic Centre and ate them and they had sultans and dried berries in them and THAT’S what did it.

I had forgotten to record them.

Darren: There ya go. I knew there had to be something.

In future if you do that again, maybe try to pick those out and just eat the nuts only.

Fay: No they were too integrated.

I won’t have them again.

There is nothing much that I CAN eat at the Aquatic Centre. Thee was also the grapes, I ate only a few of those.

So much to “paleo” – they were supposed to be “organic” but their sugar a content in such a small pack must have been huge!

3pm at 13.8 sugar level.

Darren: Yep, this is why you have to prepare, unfortunately.

At least the stats show you this though.

Fay; Yes, the stats show how I am travelling.

Yesterday I took very little insulin.

6.30 pm at 15.6 sugar

10 units of Novarapid

At 7.15 pm Dinner chicken, spinach, cucumber, nuts.

8.49 peat 14.3 sugar level.

10 units of Lantus.

Bed time 9 pm

2 eggs.

1.05 am at 10.3 sugar level.

4.37 am at 112.4 sugar level.

10 units of Lantus.

Darren: That’s fantastic, they’re starting to recover.

Fay: Yes, and about time.

Darren: Well, you should record a comment in your form about that. So it essentially can’t take up to 48 hours to cycle through and get back to normal after a spike.

Fay: I will.

Yes, it pretty well has, one small packet of organic fruits and nuts can have that much effect.

Darren: Yep, such a little thing.

Wake up at 7.55 am at 14.5 sugar.

10 units of Novarapid

Sent daily form.
