 20190118 – Friday – Peter Schwartzkoppf

This morning I woke up at around 8 am.

I must make a practice of looking at my diary first up, it would save me a lot of trouble.

But I didn’t, and I simply FORGOT that I had arranged to visit with my Adelaide daughter at her home in Stonyfell at 9 am to spend the morning with my granddaughter Acacia.

Instead I rang Peter S and asked him if he would like a coffee with me this morning.

He suggested that I visit him at his home rather than in Blackwood.

So we sat our the back of his house with its beautiful hills and valley view over the surrounding countryside.

I have known Peter for a life-time and have always got on really well with him.

Our subject for the morning was prophecy, and amongst other things, whether Ezekiel’s Temple was a small or a large temple.

We have never agreed on this subject, and Peter complained that he had given me his book on the subject years ago, but I had never read it.

And, he is right, I haven’t.

We moved on to Isaiah and some of the prophecies there, and in particular Isa 66

“Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river. And the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream.

Then you shall feed; On her sides shall you be carried, and be dandled on her knees. As one whom his mother comforts,

So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

When you see this, your heart shall rejoice, And your bones shall flourish like the grass;

The hand of the Lord shall be known to His servants, and His indignation to His enemies.

For behold, the Lord will come with fire and with His chariots, like a whirlwind, To render His anger with fury,

And is rebuke with flames of fire. For by fire and by His sword the Lord will judge all flesh.”

And then there will be “a new heavens and the new earth.”

As we both get older and our lives more precarious, how wonderful it will be if in our life-times, we may actually be blessed enough to SEE the return of our Lord.

Well, it was right at this stage that I remembered I was supposed to be visiting with daughter number 4, and not with Peter S!!

I texted an apology to Jes and then went on my way to visit with her, at least a half hour or so away.

Jes was very good about it and soon I was sitting with Acacia and sewing a little stuffed doll.

Acacia is 10 years old and so very beautiful. Her father is a Papua New Guinean and so Acacia is tall and slim with very white skin, but very dark brown eyes and hair.

She is a very thoughtful little girl and understands everything I tell her.

She sewed the round face of the doll with running stitches leaving an opening to turn its small head inside out and fill it with the stuffing material provided.

She helped me thread the needle because my eyes are not really up to it.

Then she stitched to hair to its face and then the bun at the back of its head and finally placed the eyes under the bang of hair of its face.

That’s all we got done, the doll had its head, at least.

Then with her friend Elizabeth, everyone was out to the swimming pool.

Acacacia and Elizabeth and Trystan are all good swimmers and frolicked in the water with abandon.

They each had water guns and had a great time squirting each other with water.

Jes and I sat at a table and watched them.

Then it was time for their baths, and I had to go on to my next appointment, to Ali’s place.

I sent her a message that I would be late and would arrive at 8 pm and not 7.

I knew that Ali woudn’t care because she would use the extra time out in her garden watering in the cool of the evening.

Trev and Ali and I then sat in their lounge room and talked about Carly’s funeral and how it had affected each of us.

We showed photos and then Ali did her ironing as she does when I visit, having company helps get a tiresome job disposed of more painlessly.

Eventually I went home to a good night’s sleep.

This morning when I woke up I looked around my little unit and decided that this was the day when I tackled getting rid of all the excess things I have gathered over the years.

There was one problem, no green bags!!

I took a deep breath and decided to prioritise my day.

1. Get Petrol

2. Shop for food AND the green bags.

3. Go somewhere to write up my diary.

4. Then go home and use the green bags.

So I got petrol, green bags and here I am on Broadway right by the sea, writing up my diary.

As I was driving here I noticed everything.

How BEAUTIFUL the air was on this lovely day.

How happy everyone was that I saw passing by.

The runners, the bikers, the drivers, the walkers, the coffee-ers, and how the air was delightful and the sunlight so pure.

Everyone was happy on this delightful day.

So I thanked God for all my blessings, and remembered that my 3rd daughter would be somewhere around on this day because they were visiting with friends in Adelaide and that they would be meeting up with Jes and I later on in the week.

Sure enough on facebook I saw that my Helen was at Currency Creek, the Shaw’s winery at some event that David M was riding in.

No one can every hide any more while facebook exists.

Well, now it is home, with my GREEN BAGS and ready to get rid of SOME of the debris of the years that have accumulated in my unit.
