20190306- Wednesday – South midweek class

This morning Rob T came and picked me up as he had promised and dropped me off at the Inc cafe.

We had breakfast and a chat before he left me there to work for the morning and said that he would pick me up again at 2 pm.

My friends have been so good to me and so far I have not really felt being without my license very much at all.

Unfortunately my batteries ran flat at about 12 and I had to use the Inc charger for half an hour so that I could use my iPad again.

I will have to be more careful to make sure my charger is charged and in my bag to cover this eventuality in the future.

And I was glad I had taken a jacket with me because it was quite cold at Inc.

Rob picked me up and took me back home and it was quite pleasant chatting on the way home.

I have known Rob ever since he was young when he and Vit J and Jim C used to visit at Jeff’s and my place to paint charts or just “hang out.”

I remember one time we all went to York Peninsula on holiday together when we owned a small catamaran.

Rob came roaring in to shore on said catamaran, ending up in a heap in the surf, demolishing that ill-fated vehicle.

Those were good days.

At 7.30 pm Fay B arrived at my door and I suddenly remembered that it was Wednesday night and Fay was here to pick me up to take me to South’s midweek class.

I had completely forgotten about it, so I threw myself together and was ready to go in 5 minutes.

I so enjoyed the class tonight.

The subject was 1 Cor 5 and the discussion amongst us all around that chapter was so VERY good.

This is the chapter where Paul shows that the love of people, although certainly significant, should never be allowed to rise above our love for God.

It was the love of God that prompted Paul’s command that the unrepentant brother, living with his father’s wife, should be confronted and the problem dealt with in order to hopefully save him as well as stop the accelerating ecclesial decay due to the Corinthian ecclesia’s ambivalence to the terms of God’s righteousness.

What with Adrian and Carol D and John D and Richard P and Nigel L and the two Fays and Ian F and others there is always plenty of discussion and some very good thoughts are expressed.

Everyone was fully involved and the discussion became very lively.

When we all seemed to be talking over each other, I grabbed a pen and used it as a “speaker’s rod” in the group.

Whoever had the pen in their hand could speak and not without it.

It worked pretty well, maybe we ought to use an “official” one next time to regulate who speaks and for how long.

Fay and I had an equally lively conversation on the way home.
