20181107 – Wednesday – South Adelaide
I spent some time listening to a series on Sodom and Gomorrah that Trevor G wanted me to transcribe.
I was hoping I could use u-tube’s captioning for the transcription, but could not use it for some reason, so recorded it all on to the program I use for this, and now I am ready to transcribe it. It will take a long time to do.
This evening was South Adelaide’s class, and so I drove to the hall and went in.
Adrian and Carol were there, Bruce and Elli, Fay Br Mickey C, John H, Derek H. I think that was all, maybe two others who were not within my line of vision.
We were discussing Luke 21, and there was a lot of discussion about the return of Christ.
When I arrived home I found I had a message from Eric B.
He was a hitchhiker I picked up in 1990 on my way to visit Whyalla for my work.
He ended up staying with us in Adelaide and with my daughter in WA, and I haven’t heard from him in all the years since, until this day.
One day I will write his story.
This morning’s drive to the Inc Cafe was lovely, and I took a number of photos of the ‘art’ that is there on the foreshore of Glenelg.
And the Inc cafe, I simply love it.
It is so peaceful and spacious and I can use my card for only a purchase of green tea for $3.50, there is no limitations on smallest of expenditure.
Darren sent me a link for me to read of an article which he thought I would find interesting.
He is always ‘on my case,’ hoping to keep me on track with my diet.
And so for my diet yesterday.
Fay: Wednesday 7th November, 2018.
Wake up at 6.42 am.
6.45 am at 11.6 sugar level
Went swimming at 7.38.
Had breakfast, 2 eggs, tomato, cucumber and grapes.
Arrived home at 0.30 am
Sugar level 19.6!
Had NOTHING extra and yet sugar level so high.
Darren: Oh, that is high.
Fay: 10 units Lantus and 10 units of Novarapid.
Darren: How may grapes? That will be where the sugar is.
Fay: No reason for it this time.
About 10 grapes.
Darren: Yep, that’s what it is from.
Fay; But I want to eat fruit at breakfast.
Darren: Well, then, you will have to account for it by taking insulin.
Fay: I guess so.
Darren: or have bananas or berries which are lower gi.
Fay: I guess so. I am happy that fruit is good for me even if it does spike my sugar.
Lunch at 11.30 am, 1 chop, and frozen vegetables and 1 tomato.
4.11 pm at 13.9 sugar level
10 units of novarapid.
Darren: Worked out on google, those grapes would have given u a shot of bout 10 grams of sugar which are 16% sugar per 100 grams.
Berries are 10%
Bananas 12%
In other words, the serving size of the grapes was likely too many.
I you want to have grapes in future then about 3-4 grapes is the maximum of that type of food.
Hope this helps.
Fay: Thanks.
1/4 cup coconut milk, chia and maca, and tomato
7.05 pm at 12.3 sugar level.
10 units of Novarapid.
Darren: That’s good. They are getting back to normal. So looks like when you spike around that 17-18 mark it takes 12-24 hours to recover when above, it is 24-48 hours.
Fay: Yes it seems so.
10.00 pm at 10.8 sugar level.
Darren: That’s great. Almost normal again.
Fay: Yep!
1 eg 1/4 cup coconut milk with chia and maca.
Bedtime at 10.10 pm.
4.40 am at 11.7 sugar level.
10 units of Novarapid.
8.03 am at 10.8 sugar even.
Wake up at 8.03 am.
Darren: the stats. Suggest that you are doing well.
Still completeing your daily form?
Fay: don’t think I did yesterdays.
Darren: Next step is to start getting the levels between 7 and 8.
I don’t think we are too far from that now, though.
Fay: Yes.
It will only take a little insulin to achieve that now.
My tummy is shrinking rather rapidly now.
Darren: I agree. I think next week we start aiming to get level below 10, take whatever insulin is needed.
But same goal, that that amount of insulin you take eventually reduces over time to achieve that.
Darren sent me a link.
Interesting little read.
If I ever got you to CrossFit I think that would be the holy grail, haha.
Maybe one day.
Fay: In your dreams, Darren. That would be wasting my precious time.
